Welcome to our Hard Yards Project
The main idea behind "Hard Yards" is that I do hard, or just unusual, things on the bike to raise funds for Charities that we believe in and that make a massive difference in peoples lives. That is why our catch phrase for the projects is "Hard Yards, so they don't have to." Below are the initial three projects that we are doing with links though to the Everyday Hero webpage for each project if you want to donate to the cause.
Also if you know of any causes that would like a boost then we are all ears as we would like to keep this going for as long as possible. Also thanks to my supporters, who are linked at the bottom of the page, and I am sure that they will look after you just as well as they look after me.
Charity chase
This is the tenth anniversary of The Dual and we thought that it was a great time to raise some more funds for the Motutapu Restoration Trust! To celebrate the anniversary of the event we are doing the first Charity Chase. The main idea is based on the challenge done by a ride at the Leadville trail 100 MTB race each year. Each year Ty Hall starts the race 10 minutes behind the complete field and tries to pass as many riders as possible before the finish. Leadville is 167km and The Dual short course is only 26 so we thought that a 5 minutes head start might be more realistic.
